SEABED GEOSOLUTIONS PREVAILS IN IPR CHALLENGE
A panel of judges at the United States Patent and Trademark Appeals Board (“PTAB”) recently issued Final Written Decisions in the inter partes reviews of Magseis Fairfield’s U.S. Patents 8,228,761 and 8,879,362 (“‘761 and ‘362 patents”). The PTAB panel concluded that all of the ‘761 and ‘362 patent claims that Magseis Fairfield has asserted against Seabed Geosolutions are unpatentable in light of various combinations of prior art cited by Seabed Geosolutions. Seabed Geosolutions is pleased with the panel’s decisions. Seabed Geosolutions awaits final decisions in the pending inter partes review of Magseis Fairfield’s U.S. Patent RE45,268 and the ex parte reexamination of Magseis Fairfield’s U.S. Patent 9,829,589.
