Training & Competence
At Seabed Geosolutions, we believe in the continuous training and development of our most important resource – our people. A full range of multi-level courses are available through our training program, Discovery.
Courses range from induction/awareness modules, to technical/professional training through to management development. Courses are delivered by either e-Learning or external providers.
As a joint venture between Fugro and CGG, we have full access to the training and development resources of both parent companies — Fugro Academy and CGG University.
A Competency Management System (CMS) is used to assess, evaluate and identify areas where improvements in qualifications, training and supervision need to be made to align role expectations and performance. The goal of our Competency Management System (CMS) is to control in a logical and integrated manner, a cycle of activities that will assure competent performance of personnel working for Seabed Geosolutions.
Seabed Geosolutions’ CMS is designed as a combination of:
- Knowledge (theoretical, procedures, training)
- Know how / understanding (result of practice and experience)
- Personal qualities (soft skills, attitude/behaviors)
The appropriate level of competence cannot be acquired simply by attending a training session. Knowledge can be gained from training but understanding and skills are acquired by experience and attitude.
