In September 2012 Fugro and CGG agreed to enter into a seabed geophysics joint venture that unites the ocean bottom node and electromagnetic businesses of Fugro and the ocean bottom cable, ocean bottom node, transition zone and permanent reservoir monitoring activities of CGG.
Combining the strengths of both companies, the new JV - named 'Seabed Geosolutions' - has secured an immediate market leading position in seabed geophysical activities. Leveraging the synergy between Fugro’s subsea activities and the pure play geophysical strategy of CGG, it offers a unique breadth and depth of service that no other company can match.
Seabed Geosolutions was formally established in February 2013. A focused global leader in the fast growing seabed acquisition market, this JV offers not only a broad range of seabed technology offerings, but a strengthened commercial efficiency too.
